In order to ensure the impact that coaches have on players in a positive one, Babe Ruth League, Inc., has developed a mandatory course for improving the quality and knowledge of managers and coaches. It is very important that youth coaches be properly trained to focus more on the child’s baseball and softball experience and less on winning games. Babe Ruth League, Inc. has developed the Babe Ruth League/Ripken Baseball Coaching Certification Program.  All DYBL baseball/softball coaches must complete the course BEFORE the beginning of the upcoming season. Successful completion of this course is required to coach in DYBL. If you have already completed this certification for a previous season and submitted a copy of your certificate to DYBL, no additional certification is required.

The course is available now, so you have ample time to complete certification requirements prior to the start of DYBL season. Coaches who complete the exam with a score of 80% or better will receive the Babe Ruth League/Ripken Baseball Coaching Certification. You will be able to print a certificate of completion and wallet card from the Web site. Each coach is required to provide a copy of the certificate to the DYBL President. Send via e-mail to [email protected]. This can be done right from the web site when you register for the certification course. One the president receives your certificate, your name will be added to the approved coaches list. 

The Level One course is a lifetime certification, it will take 2 to 3 hours to complete.It costs $19.95. The Level Two course is also a lifetime certification, it will take 6 to 8 hours to complete. It costs $24.95. It is the coaches responsibility to pay the fee. You can order the online course from  Cal Ripken Certification.
